Run for something - job listings

Run for Something hopes to hire out a team over the next six months. As we grow, we'll continue to add job positions to this page -- check in soon.

We'll also be hiring for positions in marketing & communications, operations, political, and finance. Job descriptions will come later.

Run for Something is a PAC committed to helping recruit and support young diverse progressives running in down-ballot races in order to build a Democratic bench. We are hiring an Organizing Director to join the team in a full-time position, reporting to the Campaigns Director.

The right person for this job is:

  • Deeply passionate about the cause

  • Comfortable in a start-up environment where responsibilities may change over time

  • Not just a strategist -- also a do-er

  • Digitally savvy -- ready to find new, cheap ways to construct organizing networks without a lot of staff support

  • Looking for work-life balance -- but ready to occasionally run conference calls from 8-9pm on weeknights or Sunday evening

  • An excellent oral and written communicator

  • A strong project manager who can clearly lay out expectations for volunteers and determine methods for celebrating success and holding them accountable

  • A roll-with-the-punches attitude

  • Managing RFS volunteers doing any number of activities (calling candidates, candidate recruitment, hosting events, organizational support, etc) in a distributed organizing model

  • Facilitating a mentorship program between campaign alum and potential candidates

  • Keeping volunteer materials up to date

  • Channel volunteer efforts toward candidates as campaigns ramp up

  • Develop organizing materials for RFS campaigns and assist with organizing programs on races

  • Build out reporting on volunteer engagement and flake rates -- responsible for coaching and developing volunteer leadership

  • Consulting candidates on their organizing programs

  • Recruit and sustain a network of organizing experts to help our candidates

Experience requested:

  • Electoral organizing for at least 2 electoral cycles. Issue organizing also OK but electoral is preferred.

  • If not in New York City, you must be comfortable working remotely.

Salary is commensurate with experience. We are explicitly looking for diverse talent -- our volunteers and candidates are reflective of the Democratic Party’s coalition and our staff should be, too.

TO APPLY: Email a brief note (2-3 paragraphs, at most) in the body of the email explaining your interest in the job and your resume attached as a PDF. Please use "Organizing Director - YOUR FULL NAME" as the subject line.
